6 LOCAL WINES. 6 FAMILY ESTATES. 6 REAL DISCOVERIES.
W.R. Tish: "Old world wines reflect place. New World wines come from grapes. Get set for the Next World— where wines are based on concepts. Make no doubt: what’s in the bottle counts. And more than ever, the imagery wine suppliers are choosing to project—and which in turn merchants are compelled to embrace—involves words and art that favor a “concept” instead of, or on top of, a wine’s ampelographic information."
make no doubt: what's in the bottle counts.
100% genuine, top-quality, vintage dated, terroir driven, lot-selected, estate-bottled, hand-crafted, non-manipulated (NO importer's cuvees, marketing blends or bulk wines masquerading as 'fine wine') wines and spirits from small family producers.
own your palate. sugar numbs it.
We taste for quality, authenticity and pleasure and not for consumer preferences (commodity wine), profits or points.
What's the difference?
Any point system inherently includes comparisons: a 90 point wine is supposed to be "better" than a wine that 'only' got 88 points.
Let's assume we have to evaluate two identical wines, except one was aged in barrique for 18 months. Which of the two wines will get the higher score? "Unfortunately", that depends on the wine preferences of the reviewer and taster's palate.
We believe you should never have to "share someone's palate" to find wines you like. If both wines are well made they both should end up with an identical score --- but that will most likely not be the case.

By tasting for flaws, agebility, balance (alcohol, tannins, acidity, extract, sugar, etc.), vintage characteristics, terroir expressions, flavor authenticity of the grape variety, style consistency in a blend, etc. and searching out wines that can hold our attention throughout an evening and / or complement a complete meal, we go well beyond analyzing the obvious flavor compositions of a wine.
We like to refer to our analytical tasting method as "going beneath a wine's surface". A wine evaluation technique we've been perfecting for almost 30 years.
The result:
The enjoyment of any of our selections is never based on our "preferences, likings, or palate" but the wine's benchmark qualities and our client's own personal taste in wine.

"Q: What's the most annoying customer habit?
A: People who won't try new things."
